My own work

Each pair shows the area before treatment and right after it. Some swelling is normal and settles over about two weeks.

Start with what bothers you, not with a product

Most people don't come to me asking for "a syringe". They come because of one thing they see in the mirror.

What you noticeWhat filler does
Thin lips, or a top lip that disappears when you smileAdds shape and gentle volume, and balances the top and bottom lip
Dark hollows under the eyes that make you look tired even after sleepFills the groove between the lower lid and cheek, so the shadow softens
A chin that sits back, or a jawline that has lost its lineAdds projection to the chin and definition along the jaw
Deep lines from the nose to the corners of the mouthSupports the fold from underneath so the crease is less deep
Downturned mouth corners or lines running down from themLifts the corners and softens the lines
Cheeks or temples that look flatter than they used toRestores the volume that is lost over time, which also supports the lower face
One side of the face that doesn't match the otherEvens out the difference so the face looks more balanced

Filler isn't the answer to everything. It doesn't lift loose skin, change skin texture or stop the lines made by expression. Those need different treatments, and I'll tell you so at your consultation rather than treat you with the wrong thing.

You'll see me at every step

I'm Moti Mehrizi, a Registered Nurse (College of Nurses of Ontario) with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. I own and run Quartz Aesthetic Clinic myself, so the person you talk to at your consultation is the person who treats you and sees you at your follow-up.

My nursing background shapes how I work: a health assessment before any treatment, clear information about risks and side effects, and never any pressure to book.

What dermal fillers are, and what to expect

The basics I go over with everyone before treatment.

What they are

Dermal fillers are injectable medical devices licensed for sale in Canada by Health Canada. The ones I use are made with hyaluronic acid, a substance your body already makes. The gel adds volume and definition where it's placed. I work with Saypha fillers for most areas and Teosyal Redensity II for the under-eye area, and I'll explain at your consultation which one suits you and why.

How results develop

You'll usually see a difference right after your appointment. Swelling settles over about two weeks, and that's when you see the final result. Filler lasts several months up to about a year, depending on the area, the product and your body. Lips often fade sooner, around 4 to 6 months. Cheeks and jawline often last 9 to 12 months.

Common side effects

Swelling, tenderness, redness and bruising where the needle went in are common and usually go away on their own. Bruising is more likely on the lips and under the eyes. I go over every risk with you, including rare but serious ones, before you decide. If you notice severe pain, skin colour changes or swelling that doesn't settle, contact me right away.

Aftercare

  • For 6 hours: don't touch or press on the area.
  • For 12 hours: no makeup on the area.
  • For 48 hours: no intense exercise, saunas, strong sun or heat, and no massaging the area.
  • If it feels tender: use a cool pack and acetaminophen (Tylenol). Avoid ibuprofen and aspirin, which can make bruising worse.
  • After lips or under-eye: sleep with your head raised for a night or two to help the swelling go down.

Questions I'm asked most

Most people find it very manageable. The filler contains a local anaesthetic, and I can put numbing cream on the area first. You may feel pressure or a brief sting as the needle goes in. Tell me at any point if you want me to pause.

Come and talk it through. No cost, no pressure.
